Does it work on Acellus, Edgenuity, or my school's program?
Yes. Noctyq reads whatever is on your screen instead of plugging into a specific school platform, so it isn't tied to one provider. Acellus, Edgenuity, Apex, Odysseyware, Canvas, Google Classroom, Penn Foster, PDFs, and anything else you can see all work the same way.
What devices does it run on? Mac, Chromebook, phone?
The full automatic app runs on Windows. There's a Mac build too, currently in beta, so expect the occasional rough edge. On a Chromebook, phone, or anything else, use the web version right in your browser: it does everything except the hands-free automatic mode, and needs no download at all.
The download won't open, or my computer blocked it
That warning is about Noctyq being a small independent app without an expensive code-signing certificate, not about anything being wrong with the file.
Windows: if SmartScreen appears, click More info then Run anyway. If your browser blocks the download itself, open its downloads list and choose Keep.
Mac: unzip the file, then right click the app and choose Open, then Open Anyway. If macOS still refuses, go to System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway there.
Move the app out of your Downloads folder before launching it, and you only have to do any of this once.
Is it a virus? Is this safe?
No. Those warnings come from the app being unsigned, which is purely a cost thing for independent software, not a sign that anything is harmful. Your password is stored encrypted, and your data is never sold to anyone.
What does it cost? Is there a free version?
There's no subscription. You get 5 free credits when you sign up, no card required. After that you buy credits in one-time packs starting at $5 for 250 credits, up to $100 for 6,500. Credits never expire, and they only get spent when you actually receive an answer.
I got a 529 or "internal server error"
That almost always means the AI provider Noctyq runs on is having a brief outage rather than a problem with your account. Wait a minute and try again, and you can check live status at
status.claude.com. Also make sure you don't have two copies of the app open at once, which causes errors of its own.
Does it handle written answers and essays, or just multiple choice?
All of them. Multiple choice, fill in the blank, short written responses, and full essay questions.
Can I get a discount or a referral code?
Referral codes take 10% off and can be used once per account. Enter one in the box above the pricing packs before you check out, since it can't be added afterwards. Free credits get given away in the Discord rather than handed out on request.
How does the affiliate program work?
Anyone can join and there's no follower requirement. You get your own code that gives 10% off to whoever uses it, and you earn 10% of every sale it drives, paid in credits or in cash for larger amounts. Hit Earn at the top of the page to apply.
What happened to SnapTutor?
SnapTutor became Noctyq in July 2026. Same product, same team, same servers. Your login, your credits, and your purchase history all carried over, so just sign in as usual.
Will this actually help me learn?
Every answer comes with an explanation of why it's correct, so you can follow the reasoning instead of just reading a letter. Treat it as a study aid: read the explanation, check that it makes sense, and use it to fill the gaps you're stuck on.
My password reset email never arrived
Check your spam or junk folder, which is where it lands the vast majority of the time. If it still isn't there after a few minutes, email
noctyq@noctyq.com and we'll sort it out manually.
How fast is it?
Usually about 2 seconds. The very first request after a quiet period can take up to 30 seconds while the server wakes up, then it's quick again.
The app looks cropped or oversized on my monitor
That was a display-scaling bug on 4K and high-scaling setups, fixed in v1.4.6. Update to the latest version, then quit the app fully (via Task Manager if you need to) and reopen it.
Can it do listening or audio questions?
No. Noctyq works from what's visible on screen, so audio prompts like Spanish listening exercises aren't supported.
Is it on the App Store or Play Store?
No. App store sandbox rules block the screen reading that makes Noctyq work, so it's a direct download, plus the web version for everything else.
What payment methods do you accept?
Card and Apple Pay through Stripe, plus crypto. Affiliate payouts go out as credits, or as cash for larger balances.
What if it gets a question wrong?
No AI is perfect, so read the explanation and sanity-check the answer before you commit to it. Credits are non-refundable, though accuracy is something we work on constantly. If something looks badly off, tell us in the Discord.
